The Operational Document Edit View allows a user to make modifications to an operational document revision. This document describes the various features of this view.
At the top of the screen is the current title area [1] where the operational document number and current title are displayed. Below that is the new title area [2]. Entering text into this field will determine the name of the revision. Next, the purpose area [3] is used to enter the purpose of the operational document, i.e., in brief what it describes. Below the purpose area is the Content area [4] in which the main text of the operational document is placed.
Below the editing region are four links [5-7]: "Insert Exhibit Link", "Insert Op Doc Link", "Clean HTML" and "Preview". Clicking the "Insert Exhibit Link" [5] reveals an "Insert Exhibit" area [8] which may be used to upload / attach files to the operational document in context as described in more detail below. The "Insert Op Doc Link" [6] reveals a dialog which may be used to insert a link to another operational document. The "Clean HTML" link can be used to remove any html formatting from the content area. This is generally only useful when documents have been converted from another format. The "Preview" link [7] displays a preview of the operational document content without savings the document.
The "Insert Exhibit" area [8] allows users to attach files to the revision and insert a link to that attachment into the content of the document in context. The text entered into the title field will be displayed as the name of the link to the attachment within the document body. Clicking the Browse button opens up a file selector dialog which can be used to select the file on the local computer to be uploaded. NOTE that files may be no larger than 10 Megabytes. Once a title has been entered and a file has been selected, clicking the "Upload & Insert Exhibit" button will upload the file and insert a link to the attachment in the op doc at the current cursor position.
Below the link and exhibit areas is the Relationships area [9]. This area allows the editor of the revision to assign positions to the revision as well as indicate tags and watchers.
Actions Menu
Three options are available under the Actions menu: "Save and Close" which saves the revision and returns to the detail view, "Save and Stay" which saves the revision and stays on the edit view, and "Cancel" which cancels any changes since the last save and returns to the detail view.
